2006 in Review

The 2006 season brought a lot of new things our way, most of them terrific, like our new guide Morgan Emery. It was Morgan's first year fishing the Prince Rupert area and he proved himself a worthy addition.

Thank you Morgan!

The fishing itself proved a little  more difficult then in the last five years. We experienced some warmer waters this year and very clear water. The end result was that we had some stellar days and some average days of fishing.

I'm happy to report though, that most groups left with their limits of fish and we handed out over 80 "Tyee"  pins. Great fishing!

Colin was up to his usual halibut magic landing a lot of 80 to 100lb fish and finding several incredible new “chicken holes”.

Overall the halibut fishing in 2006 was the best I’ve seen and appears to be very stable. Our august fishing has been absolutely phenomenal with more and more springs showing up later and as always  lots of 11 to 20lb Coho. It is fast becoming our best\ month of fishing.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our guests for their patronage and all the good times both on and off the water.  I hope to see you all in the near future.

Good fishing,
