Prince Rupert is located on Kaien Island, connected by a short bridge to the mainland of British Columbia, Canada.  Neighbouring 90 km (54mi) to the West are the Queen Charlotte Islands, and 65km (39mi) to the North is the Alaska Panhandle.  The surrounding country boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery in Canada.  Nestled in picturesque mountains at the mouth of the Skeena River, Prince Rupert has the world’s third largest and deepest ice-free harbour.  The tide flows south from Alaska coming from as far as the Bering Sea, bringing vast diversities of fish species into the pristine waters of Prince Rupert.
